DePuy Metal-on-Metal Hip Replacements

Johnson & Johnson’s artificial joint replacement company DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc., has issued a recall of two hip replacement products, the ASR Hip Resurfacing System and the ASR XL Acetabular System, because of high failure rates that necessitated second surgeries—data showed that within five years, one in eight patients needed a revision surgery.

DePuy Pinnacle

In addition to representing clients who received the recalled DePuy ASR devices, we represent individuals who received the DePuy Pinnacle metal-on-metal device. The problems associated with the Pinnacle device are similar to the injuries suffered by individuals with the DePuy ASR devices. Although the DePuy Pinnacle device has not yet been recalled, we are investigating cases involving the DePuy Pinnacle system.
