The Birmingham law firm of Cory Watson Crowder & Degaris with twenty lawyers has become known nationally as one of the leading law firms devoted to representing individuals and businesses injured by the wrongful conduct of others.

Founded in 1995, the firm includes shareholders Ernest Cory, Leila Watson, former Jefferson County Circuit Court Judge Charles Crowder, Annesley DeGaris, Rick DiGiorgio, Jason Shamblin and Brian Turner. Mr. Cory and Mrs. Watson have practiced together for two decades, since meeting at a predecessor firm founded by Mr. Cory and the late David Cromwell Johnson.

Cory Watson's experienced attorneys handle a variety of cases. The largest area of the firm’s practice is Products Liability, including litigation of defective consumer and household products, motor vehicles, medical devices and pharmaceuticals. Other practice areas include business litigation, personal injury, nursing home negligence, insurance law, civil rights, class action lawsuits, employment law, and workers' compensation. "Most of our business is attorney referred," explains founding partner Ernest Cory. "We're fortunate that other lawyers trust us to handle cases that need some extra muscle."

Cory, Watson has represented clients in more than 30 states. In addition, Mr. Cory has represented the government of Nigeria, and has handled cases in Canada, Latin America and Africa. The firm's clients range from everyday workers to a former president of a Fortune 500 company.

"Community service is an integral part of our firm's philosophy," Leila Watson relates. "We are proud to contribute to Friends of Magic Moments Children, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, The Birmingham Museum of Art, Childcare Resources, the United Way and other local charities."

The firm's offices are located in a renovated building across from Brother Bryan Park on Birmingham's Southside. The office is decorated with art work done by many local artists.
