Steroid Shot Infection
Steroid shots for sinusitis, bronchitis, and upper respiratory complications may cause infections, abscesses, and other health problems
It has come to our attention that a compounding pharmacy (a pharmacy that mixes custom formulations of various drugs) could have made serious errors when it mixed various batches of steroid injections. These injections may have been improperly compounded or handled and are believed to cause serious local infections and abscesses.
The infections resulting from these steroid shots are developing quickly—in some cases twenty-four hours after the initial injection.
If you have had a steroid shot that caused pain more severe than a usual injection and became rapidly infected, inflamed, swollen, or if a lump formed at the injection site, you may have been administered one of the steroid shots in question. These shots were given to people who went to walk-in clinics with sinusitis, bronchitis, and other respiratory problems in the last sixty days.
The company, Partners in Care, Inc. has had seven lawsuits in Alabama filed against it for problems with its various treatments.
In some cases, people who received these injections were told that they were packaged by Partners In Care, Inc. with too much preservative.
Some people have been hospitalized and had to undergo surgery to correct the problem.
